Community Gardens

Garden 5

Since our inception, we have partnered with community organizations to develop community gardens, most notably , Harmony Garden, and the Hazelwood Senior Center Garden (contact the Hazelwood Senior Center to learn more and/or get involved).

All of these gardens have been a success, providing fresh produce to community members at no cost. At the Hazelwood Senior Center Garden we’ve also held cooking classes for seniors and attracted children from a neighboring daycare to learn about gardening, cooking, and food production.

We continue to work with the SE Mass Food Security Network to help organizations that are interested in developing a sustainable garden in their neighborhood. We are also working with the Office of Housing and Community Development to look at vacant lots and their potential to be developed into community gardens.
