Media Competition Winners – Summer 2013

During the spring of 2013, we held a Media Competition open to all New Bedford Public School students, grade K-8. They had to answer the question “How can you be a Mass in Motion Kid” with a video, rap/song, or artwork using as many of the five Target Goals (listed below) as possible. We had a great turnout, and you can check out the winning pieces below.

The winners addressed the Target Goals for Mass in Motion Kids:
1) Switch from sugary drinks (like soda, sports, and fruit drinks) to water.
2) Watch no more than 2 hours of screen time per day (like TV, smartphones, and hand-held video games).
3) Get at least 1 hour of physical activity (including active play) per day.
4) Replace sugary, salty, fried, and fast food with fruits and vegetables.
5) Sleep at least 11 hours per day (ages 2-5 years) and at least 10 hours per day (ages 6-12 years).
