The City of New Bedford’s former Mayor, Scott Lang, held a press event to announce the official launch of the Healthy Dining New Bedford program.
In addition to the Mass in Motion New Bedford Program Coordinator, Pauline Hamel, supporters of the program included Matthew Morrissey, Executive Director of New Bedford Economic Development Council, Dr. Patricia Andrade, New Bedford Board of Health Chair, Marianna DeSouza, previous Director of New Bedford Health Department, Kim Ferreira, Healthy Living Coordinator for Mass in Motion, and Beth Winthrop, previous Chief Dietitian for St. Luke’s Hospital.
Representatives from local restaurants included Joe Costa, Manager of Freestone’s Bar and Grill and Kevin Santos, Owner of Waterfront Grille, also provided their support and excitement about the program. (Originally posted by CityofNewBedfordMA, )
